The People's Lawyer

Over the course of the past 12 months, we have fought together for access to health care, education, consumer justice and human equality. I so much appreciate your help and of so many others, both in terms of your hard work and your financial support. I have learned so much from the people I have met and who have so passionately believed we could make a difference.

While the results of this past election were not what we would have liked, the causes that brought me and many of you into this campaign are as alive and urgent today as they were a year ago. For me, the future will mean to continue to fight for those ideals and principles. As Thomas Jefferson said on leaving the Presidency, I now assume the “most honored of all titles, that of private citizen." For ultimately, it is citizen action that creates the most sustained change.

Just as a winning election would have been only the beginning of our work, this election cannot be the end. All of must continue the work of making our state and our nation a better place for ourselves and for the generations to follow us.

These are remarks I made today in Tampa and Tallahassee about the disappointing and unacceptable acttivites and actions by the uncumbent Attorney General Pam Bondi:

We have known for months that Pam Bondi received complaints about Donald Trump, got a $25,000 campaign contribution from him, and then the complaints went nowhere.
Now we learn from the Tampa Bay Times and the New York Times that ... Read More
